Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife
Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife is easy to mount and maintain thereby reducing compressed air consumption and noise levels. It is the most efficient design for air knife curtain blow-off technology. This reduces noise levels and provides optimum blow-off energy.
It produces a laminar flow of air using the Coanda effect. This draws a large volume of air from the surrounding area along with the small amount of compressed air from the Air-Blade. It also produces an output flow up to 40 times.
The air knife system payback on compressed air savings can be seen in some applications.
Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife make up a full flow design with rear port mounting. This avoids interference in the entrained air flow.
It also optimizes air amplification and minimizes noise levels. It is gold coated for longer life. It is made of aluminum and coated for long life. Stainless steel models are available for high temperature and corrosive applications.
Air inlet ports are ideal for compact design and minimal air interference. Airflow amplification of approximately is 40:1 compared to 3:1 for drilled pipe or open jets and tubes. There is instant on-off mechanism with no moving parts. There are no electricity or explosion hazards.

Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife is built and designed for significantly longer life in difficult environments compared to competing products. There are flexible mounting options and can easily fit in small spaces.
How Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife Works:
Silent X-Stream Air Blade Air Knife - Compressed air enters the air knife at the rear (or end) ports at (A). Air is entrained at point (B) and (D) by the compressed air stream that leaves the air knife from a small gap at point (C). The entrained air follows the profile that directs the airflow in a perfect straight line to create a uniform sheet of air along the entire length of the Air Blade air knife. The amplified air stream maximized velocity and force is maximized as a well-defined sheet of laminar flow with minimal wind shear for reduced energy use in blow off and cooling.
Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife produces a curtain of air along the length of the application using the same "Coanda" effect utilized in our Air Amplifiers. There are no moving parts, with compressed air from a local production line source being used to amplify end entrain surrounding air. Output volumes almost twenty times higher than those at the input can be achieved.
Based on an Amplification Ratio of 40:1 the air flow out would be 40 times the above.
Compressed Air Flow Through A Hole In Standard Cubic Feet Per Minute
Special lengths of our Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife are available on special order including lengths combining several units.
Silent X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife units are supplied with air inlet ports to suit either 1/4" NPT or BSP (metric). Please state preference when ordering. All screws are stainless steel. All units are supplied fully assembled with a 0.002" stainless steel shim producing a precise 0.002" air gap. Additional shims available upon request.
Calculating Compressed Air Consumption for the X-Stream Air Blade verses hole sizes is available in the chart provided. Calculate Air Savings as shown in the example provided.
1. From the chart showing air flow through a hole, assume we have a pipe 30 inches long with 1/16" holes spaced ½ apart with a total number of 59 holes. The air pressure in the system is 60 PSIG.
2. From the chart each 1/16" hole consumes 4.23 SCFM at 60 PSIG. Total air consumed is 59 X 4.23 = 249.57 SCFM.
3. From the Compressed Air Consumption Chart a 30" X-Stream Air-Blade Air Knife consumes 2.7 SCFM per inch or 30 X 2.7 = 81 SCFM at 60 PSIG.
